Developing
Leadership in Youth
|
html |
pdf |
This report correlates some of the leadership research data from
business and education, develops a teaching unit on leadership, describes the
administration of that unit to a seventh grade class of gifted students, evaluates the
leadership tendencies present in the class members, proposes a theory of leadership, and
assesses the effectiveness of the unit in educating the students regarding leadership
abilities and characteristics of leaders. Second, it reports whether any particular
instrument is effective in identifying leadership potential and provides a short term
(five years) assessment of the actual leadership involvement of the top students picked out
in a class.

Fathers
and Teenagers: Social Values |
html |
pdf |
This paper investigates the empirical information available from studies
done between 1980-1987 regarding the relationship between fathers and teenagers in the United
States, and seek to make public policy recommendations
for this area in light of specific biblical values. The
paper was done for the Family Research Council and was published in the
volume Values and Public Policy in 1987.
God has established three institutions for the preservation and
protection of humankind: the family, the church, the government; and the greatest of these
is the family. If, in response to the many pressures, the family is dissolved from the
American scene then the church and our society are less than one generation from oblivion.
But the message is not all one of gloom and doom. This booklet provides you with the
information and the motivation to begin to make changes in your family. Only as you put
these ideas into action in your own life will the spiritual fruit be developed. God loves
you and whatever the problems are which you
face He is able to meet those through His resources in Christ and in the body of Christ.
This booklet studies the pattern of spiritual growth and the relation of
other persons and groups to the means God uses to help us to grow in Christ.
Specific elements of discipleship and leadership are examined in such a discipling relationship.

Leadership
of Spiritual Movements |
doc |
pdf |
Today’s
population growth is driving change in unprecedented ways. No generation has
ever faced these issues; there are no ready-made answers. In the last 150
years the world’s population has grown from 500 million to 6 billion. In
the next 50 years it will grow to 11-12 billion. How can we help equip
leaders to build spiritual movements and reach the world for Christ?
This guide was written to teach you how to memorize the
Bible. Or any part of it you want, or anything else you want
to memorize.
The concept of spiritual
breathing unites the biblical ideas of confessing our sins (exhaling) and
being filled with the Holy Spirit (inhaling). When God convicts us of
any sin we need to know how to be cleansed and to renew our walk with God.
This is the secret to walking in power and joy.

Social
Obligations of the Church |
html |
pdf |
On both philosophical and practical grounds we need to explore the
issues of the individual Christian's and the corporate church's social obligation. This
paper focuses on the institutional church's response to the needs of society.
What can the church do to address these concerns? What, before God, should the church do?
What are its social goals? How can it develop in social areas with integrity to the
gospel? How does God address the church in local situations? These issues will
include ethical, theological and philosophical content and will draw on politics, morals,
church polity, liberation theology, learning theory, and character development.
